Day 1 - Walking Tour & Explore the city

Arriving in a new city can sometimes be overwhelming when they are so massive and busy! We’ve sussed that the best way to settle in to a city is to jump onto one of the free walking tours, this way you’ll get a really good overview of the city and you have your own personal tour guide that knows ALOT about their city! Your walking tour will last a couple of hours so then it’s time to get out and lost in Melbs, our fave spots in Melbourne for a bit of exploring are:

  • Degraves Street >> loads of good coffee and foodie spots here!
  • Hoosier Lane >> the crazy famous street art lane that literally changes everyday
  • Flinders Street Station >> the heart of the city, this station is a beaut
  • Fed Square >> you’ll find this spot always has performers or pop up activities
  • Block Arcade >> an old school retro shopping arcade
  • AC/DC lane >> unreal street art

On your first day jump on the tram >> the city circle line is F R E E and even offers a commentary of popular spots around the city. RatPack tip for ya, the trams within the city network are freeeeeeee!

Day 2 - Get Cultural >> museums and galleries

So Melbs is known as the cosmopolitan city of Aussie, some even liken it to a european city! When you get there and see the grand buildings and the tram network you’ll see the likeness. There are plenty of awesome spots to explore inside the city and even better they are free. Head to the State Library of Victoria, it’s so grand and has some awesome exhibitions on in the floors above the main La Trobe reading room.

In Fed Square there is the ACMI, which is a museum dedicated to movies, TV & games. The National Gallery of Victoria {a RatPack fave} is incredible, and even if you are not into art you’ll be wowed by it, the exhibitions change regularly but you are guaranteed to see trippy interactive works of art that you haven’t seen anything like before! You could easily spend 2-3 hours in here alone.

Day 3 and 4

Day 3 – Fitzroy

Fitzroy… as hipster as it gets, this suburb just in the north of the city is home to allllllll the vintage shops, unreal foodie spots, bars and boutique shops. You’ll find art murals everywhere and really interesting shops. We love this place as its a little bit different and quirky. Head to Naked for Satan – an unreal rooftop bar with views of the whole city, they do good cocktails and food here! If you are an ice cream lover don’t miss N2, an gelato store where they make the ice cream in front of you using Liquid Nitrogen.

Whilst on your way back to the city, check out the National Exhibition Building and grounds & the old Gaol. Hit up China Town in the evening for unreal food at good prices, you’ll find some secret bars tucked in the back streets here too > check out Croft Institute!

Day 4 – Brighton Beach & St Kilda

Time to venture out of the city and head to Brighton Beach {not the one in England}, this little beach is home to loads of beach huts which are 100% instagram friendly… you’ll find here the iconic australian flag beach hut. It’s easy to jump on a train or bus and visit here! On your way back head to St Kilda Beach, the closest beach to Melbourne’s city, it has a promenade with always something going on and a main street that has soo many foodie and coffee joints! We recommend giving the fish and chips a go or going to the iconic Luna Park. Stay here until dusk and head to St Kilda Pier where you will be able to see the penguins >> yep you read right, penguins, in Melbourne, any time of year.

Day 5 - hit the caffeine...

No trip to Melbourne is complete without having a LOT of coffee, so spend your last day hopping around all of the coffee shops and get some amazing food! We recommend chuckle park – an outdoor tiny little spot, or check out one of the many many rooftop bars, you’ll find they all will have a happy hour at some point and there’s one – the rooftop bar {genuinely thats its name} that does a rooftop cinema! Madame Brussels is another great themed bar in Melbourne, it has a very english summer theme to it so if you are feeling homesick its for you! Up until April head to the Queen Victoria Night Markets, they have live music, the BEST foodie trucks like ever and loads of stalls with unique gifts and souvenirs!

Espresso Martini’s are also a MUST when you are in melbourne, the best coffee around, combined with the best bartenders around.

Absolutely recommended to anyone wanting to take the stress out of booking a camper van! Ben made the process for me so smooth and he genuinely cared for what my trip entailed and catered right to it! Blown away with his kindness and couldn’t be more happy with the price and deal we go for our van!

Jenna & Ryan are very professionals and helpful. Wish them the best

This shout out is for James! He took all of our worries, stress and anxiety about our up coming snow road trip and chucked them out the window. In under 30 minutes he had us booked with a better deal, upgraded vehicle and many laughs. Just for his service alone we will be back for every holiday! Thanks heaps James we look forward to our holiday because of you, now I can drive to Sydney today with a clear mind and no worries of having to sleep on my bike in the middle of the snow ⛄️ I have to mention his concern for safety was top notch with not wanting myself or my partner to have a bed fall on our heads again 😂

Mikey was very efficient and easy to deal with, we booked a camper and the whole process took around 1 hour from him getting us prices, speaking to different dealerships and us paying our deposit. He was happy to answer any questions we had and shared lots of information regarding routes, campsites and the day to day travel in a camper. We would definitely recommend!
