A little about me:
I started out backpacking in 2012 and was instantly hooked. The money ran out after about 8 months, but I knew that one day I wanted to do it full time. I then moved into a “real” 9-5 career and became a teacher and eventually a vice-principal. It was great career experience but it still left me a little unsatisfied creatively and I knew there was more opportunity out there. I had always had a love for making memories in the form of video, so I worked tirelessly on my filmmaking skills. A little hard work mixed with some passion and here I am today doing it full time. Even though I’ve taken a pay cut, I wouldn’t want to be doing anything else.
Why is Aussie so special...
Aus was the location of my first backpacking trip and it’s the home of many of my friends. I love the weather, beaches, crazy animals and all adventurous experiences this place has to offer.
Favourite spot in Australia:
I’ve been to the Whitsundays twice now and it’s just sooo crazy beautiful! The marine live, the blue water and the sailing experience is just toooo good.
And Finally…
If I could express any sort of purpose while travelling… it’s encouraging others to do what they love. Travelling has an uncanny way of pushing people out of their comfort zones and subtly forces you to meet new people they would normally never talk to. People often find out who they really are and what they really like through these types of experiences. It doesn’t really matter what that “one thing” is, it’s just as long as you are happy and it gets you excited to live. Australia is a great place to make that happen!
