K’Gari, also more commonly known as Fraser Island is the world’s LARGEST sand island! It’s a location on the East Coast of Australia that simply can not be missed! As the island is HUGE with plenty to see we always suggest going over to the island for 3 days and 2 nights. On the trip you will visit Lake Mckenzie & Wabby (The Natural Tea Tree lake), Indian Head, Champagne Pools, Eli Creek and the tropical rainforest.
This BackPacker safari tag-along tour allows you to drive your own jeep. Don’t worry though you’ll have an Aussie tour guide who leads the way and they’ll be with you for the duration of the trip to show you all the HOT SPOTS! sdasdas
RATPACK TIP:
Keep an eye out for the islands local dingos! Oh and watch out for the Drop Bears ;)
Tour information:
The tour will start from the Pippies hostel in Rainbow Beach. Please note you must be at the hostel the day before the trip as they will provide you with a safety briefing prior to heading over to the island. You can leave your big bag in the hostel and store this there for the duration of the trip. You can then pack a small bag for the duration of the trip.
3, 2, 1… You’re then ready to visit the world’s largest sand island and explore it by 4WD!
Fraser Island is one of our favourite adventure experiences and you’ll love everything that this incredible island has to offer! There’s no such thing as roads on Fraser and you’ll be swapping the rainy highways of home for the 75-mile beach highway driving along the beach and tracks through the forest, it’s an experience like no other and this will certainly get your adrenaline going. The island is super remote and very few people actually live here, there’s incredible wildlife to see, look out for the island’s resident dingos, goannas and whales (during the migration season).
This 4WD tag-along tour will show you the island’s best locations and you’ll be shown around by legendary experienced guides! You’ll see all of the island highlights including the crystal clear Lake McKenzie, Tea Tree Lake Wabby, float down the natural lazy river Eli Creek, visit Indian Head to take in the views or chill in the bubbling champagne pools and see the historic Maheno shipwreck.
Pippies is one of the best-rated 3-day 2 night Tag Along tours departing from Rainbow Beach….This trip is EPIC! This safari-style tour includes all food, accommodation (tents are pre-built and will be ready for your arrival), 4×4’s on the island, petrol, national park fees and of course an Aussie tour guide who shows you around.
This 3-day 2-night tour with Pippies is an awesome way to see and explore Fraser Island, we love this tour because you’ll have an awesome time cruising around in the 4WDs, these are self-drive so if you’re over 21 and have had your license for more than a year you can be the driver and experience driving along the beach, and what road trip is complete without epic tunes? Be the DJ and create the ultimate island soundtrack!
All your meals are provided on this tour and you’ll all chip in and help out with the cooking and cleaning – see it as ‘4wd team bonding’! You’ll be treated to epic hot meals at the end of the day and a picnic lunch each day in some unreal spots!
